TRAINS FOR OPEN BVE AND BVE 4

Steve's blog 2011

29th April 2012

What have I done in the last week?

Well not as much as I would like, these 47/57's have been in production for about eight months now and I am sure you would like me to release them.

I would like to as well but at the moment there is roughly a month's work left to do.

What I have done in the last week is reconfigure the buffers and add detail to them.

Redraw the Drivers side bogie sides for a Class 57 or change the pipework slighty from a 47 for them and put the OHL warning stickers by the cabsides in the right places.

22nd April 2012

Here's a shot of 57001 in WCRC ownership.

I added the 57 exhaust silencer to the roof, made the bufferbeam area red and altered the cab nose on the end you can't see in this shot to a flush one as shown on the freightliner version.

I've added yet more detail to the bogies of all versions and have about two hours work left on them as a 47 bogie, then it's make 57 versions or add some sandboxs to put it another way.

19th April 2012

I am still making Freightliner 57/0's at the moment, here's 57001.

I've added more detailing under and on the bufferbeams that are also Class 47 parts so the 47's have the same things added.

So dispite my displaying the 57's the 47 development also continues.

Added also to the bogies of the 57's is the pipework and cabling that are on the righthand side of the bogies and the front end of 57001 has a replacement nose that does not have the reccess where the headcode was displayed.

This is most likely due to 57001 when it was a Class 47 having a collision.

15th April 2012

The Class 97/3 has now been rereleased today.

I've remixed the sounds and made seven different versions for this release.

I've also been working on reskining the WCRC Class 47 to a Freightliner Class 57/0.

10th April 2012

The following trains are now released or rereleased.

143

2 car First Great Western 'place name' livery

150/1

2 car Silverlink

2 car FGW ex Silverlink

150/2

2 car Arriva Trains Wales (older version but updated)

4 car Arriva Trains Wales (older version but updated)

4 car Arriva Trains Wales/FGW-Silverlink

2 car Northern Trains

158

2 car First Scotrail ex Wessex Alphaline (new version)

2 car First Scotrail

950

2 car Network Rail

Note they are not shown as available but are on the respective download page, I've got to go to work!

So hopefully I will correct that tomorrow.

The 97/3 DRS cabview will be available shortly.

I want to see if I can improve the sound config first.

6th April 2012

The Class 20's are back, there's quite a few versions.

Exellent sounds by Martin Corbett of BVETMD.

If you don't have these trains download them now.

5th April 2012

What I should be working on is finished, so I am now adding a few bit's to the bufferbeam.

27th March 2012

A bit more work on the 47/57 this morning, I've added lights and cab steps on the side of the bogies.

The red bits are still what I should be working on..

I also replaced the one texture with 12 where the Orange line drops from the cab to the main bodyside and put very basic details in the bogies so you can't see through from one side to the other when you should not.

26th March 2012

I really am back to the 47/57, I've changed the bufferbeam texture to a correct one.

The red bits in this shot are the area's I am working on at the moment.

Bar doing something about the overhead live wire warning line that drops vertically ish from the cab to the main body 'upstairs' is finished.

The angular bit is one texture, I need to make it a lot more curved.

17th March 2012

This week I had not much time, I've added some more details to the Class 47/57 bogies and made another wagon object for NWM by TSC.

Let's say the next release of NWM could be quite interesting!

I've now made 12 new wagon objects for the route and I hope to add one more.

But from what I've been told, NWM will look rather different each time you run the same route file.

Sounds good to me!

Here's a couple of screenshots, the first is of the 47 showing the bit's I've added to the bogies.

It also shows one of the liverys I plan for it on the main body side, in this case from a photo by Tony Haylor of TSC.

The other is of the latest wagon I've made for TSC to put in NWM.

Perhaps, I should point out a lot of the other 11 are a bit more mundane...

Or are they?

10th March 2012 more

It's a big day!

I now am really back to the WCRC Class 47.

Here's a shot of the cooler group area on the roof of it from above.

10th March 2012

Arriva Trains Wales versions of the Class 158 are now released.

There are four different versions of livery 2 car wise, a 4 car, a 158 and 143 4 car and a 158 and 150/2 4 car.

Here's a shot of the 158 and 150/2 combination.

6th March 2012

I am now working on Arriva Trains Wales versions of the 158.

Yes I know it should be the 47.

I hope to make three different ones although ATW has a couple more!

I also want to make where a 143 is on the rear.

The screenshot shows me I have to spend some rather more time on this one!

It's in ATW's first go at a livery.

5th March 2012

I've now added to the site some Arriva Trains Wales Class 150/2's, including a 150/2 and 143 4 car.

They all have working door interlock and door button lights, they are all confgured to work in NWM night routes.

The screenshot shows the 6 car Driver Only Operated Empty Coaching Stock version at Lugate Hill on NWM.

So remember you as the driver need to shut the doors if you use a route where the doors are open at start up.

3rd March 2012

I've now added the high intensity headlamp, that caused me to adjust the nose textures.

Basically I lowered the warning yellow area and this seems to have made my config of the nose look rather better.

This is a trailing end view, I've also configured it to work in Network West Midlands night routes.

1st March 2012

Today I added the rest of the details to the main roof, there's also representation of the fans.

I've also separated the cab nose handrails from the nose, added the smaller ones and the lamp brackets.

There are also older as built headlamp lights on the trailing end.

Left on the body to do, are the steps on the bottom edge of the cab nose, the high intensity headlight and all the little stickers that are along the bottom of the body sides.

Then back to finishing the bogies, bufferbeam and the underframe.

29th February 2012

Today I've started on the main roof, here's a first draw shot.

28th February 2012

I forgot about the other details on the cab roofs, so I've added the radio antenna and the round vent.

All you see has been made from photo's I took last summer of the preserved Class 47's on the Gloucester and Warwickshire Railway.

Thanks to the G&WR for being rather helpful with this.

27th February 2012

I've now got back to the 47, I have now made the cab roof vent.

What's left?

Details on the bogies and underframe, plus loads of detail above the grills on the main part of the roof.

The buffers are a bit short and the cab roof also needs the odd bit added.......etc etc!

26th February 2012

The DBS Class 60 is now available to download, with a Cargowaggon 9 wagon train.

This is has a new performance configuration.

25th February 2012

I've side tracked again!

This should be released in a day or two, I still have parts of the rear cab roof to re texture and a couple of more things to add to the textures.

I have not made up my mind what the train behind it will be.

But it will be with new wagons.

22nd February 2012

Soon was the wrong word, but I can assure you all that work on the 47/57 will resume next week.

I got a bit carried away with the number of wagons I've made, but it might mean the odd siding or sidings might have a few wagons rather than none what so ever in NWM with it's next release and a few may get used as passing objects.

Although how they get used is not up to me, as it should be of course.

It's not my route!

11th February 2012

Since the last post I've still been working on wagon route objects, I've made eleven of them so far and will be soon getting back to the 47/57 and the Turbostars.

1st February 2012

What have I been doing this week?

Well not much work on my own projects, what I have been working on is creating new wagon route objects for the NWM route for the TSC team.

There's the odd Yard that's a bit empty at the moment on NWM and I want to help fill them up a bit!

25th January 2012

I've now made the night views.

Still to animate, horn, PBH, line light, pantograph switch, Brake Force indicator and a speedometer on the VDU.

It will be released with the external that the old version was released with on TSC.

I have no plans at the moment to do a more high detail external.

I have enough WIP as it is!

So it might be a better idea if I finish what I've started, there again how about a new 220 cab......

24th January 2012

So how am I celebrating that TSC as Train Sim Stuff has come back and NWM is to shortly?

I am back to working on my new version of the Class 390 Pendolino.

I started it in April last year and now it's back as a WIP.

It got put back thanks to the chance to make the Class 20's and the 97/3 cabviews, that I have since have to remove for you to download.

But it was my first ever train for Bve4, I got loads of help from the TSC Team and at the end my original 390 was released by them.

I can not tell how proud I was that day, or the respect I still have for them all.

Here's is a shot of what it looks like at the moment.

23rd January 2012

The former Trainsimcentral Class 170's, 220's and 323's are now available to download.

Thanks to Steve Green, Anthony Bowden of Rail Sim Routes and the many others involved in the production of these trains.

I've also added some new 2 car versions of the Class 170's and separates the different versions in to separate downloads.

[Edit] Bve 4 versions are now released here.

22nd January 2012

A great day Trainsimcentral/bve4.net is back as trainsimstuff.org!

Hopefully the Network West Midlands route will be released in a updated form within the next week.

All the mainline MU trains that were on TSC will be available here shortly, in both Openbve and bve4 forms.

19th January 2012

Sorry to any one who was wondering what the 17th of Jan post would have been.

I was as well!

I am now on the Mk3 version of the cab roof of the 47/57 and this one looks ok from most angles you view it at.

The big question is does it look OK when I add roof vent.

If not I might go back to the 66!

13th January 2012

Not much this week either.

I've changed the boogie textures for new ones and started work on the coach ends of the 168.

It's the centre coach I am doing first.

I hope to have another go at the Class 47-57 cab roof this weekend.

In the screenshot you can also see I've added disc brake pads to the wheel textures of the 168.

6th January 2012

Not much done this week, I been a bit miffed I got the 47 cab roof a bit wrong and that's put me off.

So I've started work on the new Turbostars today.

I am first starting on a Chiltern Railways Class168 as I have made them before based on the TSC route object and they really do need replacing because they don't really compare very well with my recent work.

Here's a screenshot of what I've configured this afternoon, the boogie texture needs replacing.
