Brookfield Academy’s mission is to provide students with the tools that they need, both academic and social, to succeed at the next level of their education.  Students who graduate from Brookfield are prepared for the best middle schools and high schools, possessing the work habits and the confidence they need in order to do well.  Brookfield employs Montessori methodology, a proven system which addresses each child’s individuality.  Sequential steps in academic growth are carefully tested before moving ahead in any subject, allowing each student to progress at their own rate.

The Brookfield Academy West Bloomfield Campus, built in August 1977was founded by its owners and a group of dedicated parents who insisted on the benefits of a sound, early and individualized educational program for their children founded.  Now, 32 years later, our parents are still insisting on that same education.  We believe that children are born with tremendous potential and we believe this potential is realized through the right kind of environment and experiences.  The right kind helps them develop a sense of responsibility and independence.  It develops good work habits.  It develops a fascination with the world and a desire to discover its secrets.  It develops a well-balanced integrated personality.

Since our doors opened in September 1977, we have strived to offer a broad, meaningful education that encompasses the mind, culture, emotions, social expertise and practical skills.  Our student’s academic success is achieved through an individualized, non-graded academic curriculum.  Instruction in reading, language arts, mathematics, science, Spanish language, computer science, social studies, history, and geography is presented individually or in small groups.  Our students’ engage in wonderful field trips including experiencing what space is like from an astronaut’s point of view by attending “Space Camp” in Alabama for a week.

Above all, we shall continue to be a singularly exceptional school that provides children with the foundation for their success in life for another 32 years!
