Our Mission:
At Brookfield Academy, children are empowered to become confident, successful, life-long learners and secure, caring people. We help children to see the world as an invitation to learn, to grow, and to live fully - to see a world full of possibilities that are within their reach. We help children to approach school and academics with skills, confidence, and the drive for excellence.
The West Bloomfield Campus
Brookfield Academy, West Bloomfield’s educational program is based on the work of Maria Montessori and is affiliated with the American Montessori Society (AMS). Children develop at their own pace in a carefully prepared environment and under the guidance of trained Montessori teachers. The distinctive Montessori environment appreciates beauty, the natural world, and child-scaled furnishings to create a wonderful learning experience for children in our Montessori programs. The West Bloomfield Campus has two Children's House classrooms for children ages three through six. This school year we also have three elementary classrooms for children ages six through eleven. These classrooms are divided between the lower elementary and the upper elementary students.
Our Educators
The Children’s House classrooms have one certified Montessori teacher and a trained Assistant Teacher. Our lower and upper elementary classrooms have two certified teachers that co-teach our curriculum – Math/Science and Language Arts/History.
Specialty Classes
The West Bloomfield Campus has five specialty classes taught by teachers trained in their specific area. The teachers meet with each class twice a week. The classes are Spanish, computers, physical education, music and art. These classes are presented to students in lower and upper elementary.
The Children's House students have three specialty classes this year: Spanish, physical education, and music. Their classroom teacher presents Art instruction to the children in their classroom on a weekly basis.

Enrichment Activities
During the school year many students take part in after-school enrichment programs. The enrichment programs change yearly due to enrichment enrollment and children’s interest. Programs that have been popular are spring and fall soccer programs, chess club, Glee Club, and specialized art programs throughout the year.
Secure Building
For the safety of our students, we have a secure entrance and exit. Our building has a secure keypad entry system. Families are given a code for entry. Exit is a two-step process for adults escorting their child(ren) out of the building. All of these precautions are to keep our children safe.
Welcome
The merits of our program are best viewed in person. Tours of our campus are available throughout the year. Appointments can be made by calling our school office. We look forward to hearing from you!
