Hello readers! The sixth week of Big Creek Missions 2009 is coming to a close, and this week has truly been a blessing. We have had a great group of students who have worked endlessly and served the Lord with a smiling face. Today, the day camp ministry is finishing out their week with LiveWire, a kid-friendly worship service and field day at Big Creek for all of the kids who attend the day camp. We will be having kids from Manchester, Sandhill, Hazard, and Hyden joining us this morning. The students volunteering in the daycamp ministry are excited about seeing all the children come together to have this event. In addition, the community ministries will be going to their sites again today for the last time. Groups will be traveling to places such as Compassionate Hearts, the Hazard Nursing Home, and Horizon Center today. In addition, they will be doing a food delivery to a family in need. This group will be shopping to buy food for a family, and then have the opportunity to deliver the food to the family. The construction ministries are finishing their projects today, and continuing to make connections with the homeowners. The construction ministry has a unique opportunity of meeting people in the community by working on their house. We have enjoyed these groups of churches, and thank them for all their hard work this week! Have a wonderful Friday! ~Megan |
