Good afternoon, friends! Today, our teams are wrapping up their ministries for the week. The daycamp teams are currently hanging out with the kids here at Big Creek during the LiveWire services. This evening, the children will be presenting a mini-musical called, "GPS" at the park in Hyden.
Our construction teams are typing up all the loose ends and are helping close things out for the summer. Our next teams won't be in for about a month, so we're hoping to finish as many projects as possible.
This has been a fantastic summer, and God has blessed us in immeasurable ways. Our best estimates have over 100 people believing and confessing Christ as their Lord for the first time this summer. Glory be to God!
Thank you for your prayers and support. Without your prayers and support, Big Creek Missions would not exist. We are available to host groups on mission any time of the year. I hope you'll consider bringing a group during the fall and spring months to continue building the relationships that have been formed this summer!
We look forward to seeing what all God has in store for us . . .
Until Big Creek 2010 . . . . Go serve!

Good morning! We just finished our morning celebration, and the volunteers are now heading out to site! It's been a great week so far. Besides a few raindrops that have slightly modified our ministry plans, everything has been positive and excellent!
Today, many of our daycamps will be spending the morning at the Clay County Library taking part in the community reading program. In addition, we're excited about our "LIVEWIRE" worship tomorrow at the school. On Fridays, all the daycamp students join us at Big Creek for a kids worship celebration at the school. It's always fun and exciting!
Construction teams continue to serve in a variety of ways. Some are roofing, some are building ramps and porches, some are repairing home interiors. They continue to provide excellent services for the community.
Thank you for your prayers! More coming tomorrow!

Well, good afternoon! We've had a great Tuesday here at Big Creek. All our teams are returning home after a good day's work. Many of our daycamp students spent the day at the Manchester Splash Park, and the community teams served in a variety of ministries. Today, one community team served alongside a ministry team from "Adventures in Missions." They are serving here in Leslie County this week.
Our Construction teams began their first full day's work. Some are continuing projects that have been in progress for several weeks, and others are beginning new projects.
We're thankful to serve alongside so many great churches! Thanks for your continued prayers! As soon as volunteers begin to bring picture cards, we'll start uploading pics!

Welcome to week 9! This will be our last week of summer missions in 09. However, in no way will you hear me say that we're winding down! This week, we're VERY encouraged to have some awesome churches from all over the country. These fantastic volunteers have already been a great encouragement to the staff, and are already stepping up and serving in a passionate way.
All churches arrived ON TIME last night, and work up on time this morning. We just completed our evangelism training, and all groups will be leaving to serve in the community in just a couple of hours.
Volunteers this week will be serving throughout the community in children's, community, and construction ministries. No matter the task, our purpose is to simply share the Good News of Christ with the wonderful people of this community.
Thank you for your prayers - we should have some pictures uploaded for you by tomorrow evening! We are truly looking forward to sharing with you the results of this wonderful week!

Morning greetings from an overcast Appalachian Kentucky!
We are "up & at em" this morning with students and staff heading for group devotionals. Yesterday we had a fantastic Tuesday. Daycamps headed for the local swimming pools in Manchester, Hyden, and Hazard. Construction crews were greeted with a load of cabinetry from Mission of Hope. We are so thankful and appreciative to this organization for blessing us with supplies to help a local homeowner.
Daycamps are continuing to have great weeks as they minister to Hyden, Sand Hill, Grannies Branch, Manchester, & Hazard. Pray for these staffers as they continue to lead groups and children. Pray for the students that they would connect with our children-that they would truly know the love of Christ.
Community continues to work on food deliveries, clothing donations at God's Closet, and local Random Acts of Kindness.
Construction has multiple projects in many hollows. Jacob's group is replacing a floor while Douglas' group is working hard to complete the woodshed project here on campus!
Please pray for these staffers, campers, and adults as we reach the half-way point of the week!
Thank you!
Hannah
PS: Amy (SLA) and myself are heading back to school, etc today...so good-bye! Thank you for being so supportive of our ministry. May God receive all the glory and exaltation.

Greetings from a great group of missions trainees!
Today we have started out early with a hearty breakfast @ 6:45-full of biscuits, gravy, eggs, and bacon.
On Monday's we spend extra morning time in preparation for ministry. From sharing testimonies to greeting the family, we work on being well-rounded in our efforts. Additionally, we learn about utilizing the Roman's Road-a great way of explaining God's love and promises.
Daycamps are studying animals and their origin this week. Pray that our daycamp students will listen and learn about God's truth.
Construction will be finalizing several home projects from the past couple of weeks-we are still working hard to establish relationships with these homeowners. Much prayer appreciated!
Have a bright and cheery Monday!

Greetings!
Groups from Eastern Kentucky, East Tennessee, and Arkansas have come to join us for a week of missions training.
Upon arrival, our group enjoyed an Italian themed dinner including Alfredo, Lasagna, breadsticks, and pizza bread. We like our campers to be well fed here at Big Creek!
What is on the agenda this week??
Daycamps will continue to minister in Sand Hill, Granny's Branch, Manchester, Hazard, and Hyden. Pray that God will continue to open doors for relationship building with the goal of sharing Jesus' love. Monday is a "get-to-know-you" sort of day-Manchester goes to McDonalds, Hyden has ice cream, and Sand Hill has snowcones.
Construction will be doing various roofing and repair jobs. This week we have a team doing lawn ministry-where they do lawn care and share time with various families in the area.
Community has a full schedule of nursing home visits, food deliveries, working at God's Closet, and much more!
Pray for these students to truly experience what missions is-not a title but a daily surrender to Christ.
Have a great night!

We have arrived at the end of a great week of training. However, our groups here at lots of work yet to be done!
Today our big event for daycamp is the LiveWire worship service here at Big Creek. Each Friday we get the opportunity to show the daycamp kids "our house"...where we live, worship, and train for missions. Kevin or another special guest shares a Bible story with them and we spend the afternoon playing fun games and doing crafts. Simply showing love and compassion in so many of their lives makes an eternal impact.
Community groups are spending time today at the Hazard Veterans Home, Compassionate Hearts, doing a food delivery. Our trips to the Veterans Home tend to be unique in the fact that our students get to share alot of history and stories with those who have served our country. Please pray for our students as they love and build Jesus centered relationships with these members of our community.
Construction is working hard to finish projects from flooring to roofing. Please pray for a specific family whose daughter is dying of liver cancer. Pray that God would open doors, open hearts, and that His word would be heard.
Tonight we are joining the community of Hyden at their Friday night music in the park-filled with wonderful sounds of Kentucky Bluegrass.
Thank you for your prayers. Our God is a God of His word-He is faithful. Take time to find in the big and small things today!~

We have made it to the last two days of missions training for week 7 here at Big Creek Missions. As we approach an overcast Thursday, we pray that God would truly reveal himself in this day!
Daycamps are planning a wonderful Friday Powersource service for all the kids. If you aren't familiar with our Fridays, we always bring the children from daycamp to our facility. During this time we host a special GPS themed worship service and have fun games for the kids. Tomorrow we will be having a reading day-where we are picking the classics from Dr. Seuss and other known childrens books...we are even having green eggs and ham!
Construction is continuing to have a highly successful week with repairs, roofs, and other much needed home projects.
Community visited the Hazard Nursing Home, Hazard Community Center, Horizon Senior Center, and God's Closet. Our kids really get the chance to learn alot about what loving people in "everyday living" means. Pray for them today-this ministry is hard, tiring, and at times discouraging.
Tomorrow night we are excited about attending bluegrass "pickin and grinnin" outdoors in downtown Hyden.
Have a great Thursday!~

Big Creek Missions is experiencing a wonderful week with our ~200 campers + ~30 staffers. God is doing awesome things this week!!
Last night we enjoyed a Mexican themed dinner...the campers are eating well. From beef burritos to cheese and chips we had a Kentucky-style fiesta. (Haha)
Daycamps are experiencing high attendance and enjoyed a wonderful day at the pool yesterday. According to the Manchester leaders, 2 people came to know Jesus yesterday-how awesome! God is continuing to work miraculously and mysteriously. We are so thankful.
Community has done great work-from keeping our facility nice and clean to doing random acts of kindness in the community. Today we have a group heading to the Compassionate Hearts, the adult daycare in Manchester. Also groups are heading for the Hazard Senior Center and Hazard Nursing Home.
Construction is working hard to finish roofing projects and flooring projects. Gals and guys are also continuing to work on the storage shed for our use here on BC campus.
Please pray for strength and rest as we are 1/2 way through the week!
Because of Christ,
Hannah
