Summer Missions '10

Mission Trips

We can host groups throughout the year, and would love to serve alongside your group on mission in Kentucky.
We can serve ALL age groups - including College groups, student groups, Senior groups, middle school groups, and high school groups.

Here are some ways you can assist in this area:

-- Assisting local churches with renovation projects
-- Assisting local low-income residents with construction needs
-- Providing love to local nursing homes and adult care centers
-- Providing assistance to various local ministries

Or, you can assist with renovations at Big Creek!

-- Painting throughout the facility
-- Restroom Upgrades and Repairs
-- Repairing windows
-- Fixing all sorts of little problems!
-- Installing Acoustical Ceilings in Hallways
-- Assisting with lawn care
-- Stripping and Waxing Tiles

You can download and read our group preparation guide at the bottom of this page!

Lodging Information:

Big Creek offers a full-size equipped commercial kitchen that can easily prepare for 200+, a large walk-in fridge and freezer, stocked pantry, and large dining hall that can seat 120+ at a time, and sleeping accomodations for 200.  We have approximately 180 bunk beds and tresses.  All our rooms are air conditioned / heated.  We have 14 showers (7 for men, 7 for women), and ample toilets and sinks.  We provide all toilet paper, paper towels, and cleaning supplies.   All showers are heated with tankless gas water heaters, therefore, all showers should have endless hot water.  Groups are expected to clean after themselves, as we have no maintenance or custodial staff.

What about food?
Two options:  Your group can provide your own food for use  OR Big Creek Missions offers a simple menu and can order all food and have it shipped to the center for you.  To provide food, our meal prices average: $2.50 breakfast, $2.00 lunch, and $4.00 dinner pp.  Groups always provide their own kitchen volunteers, as we have no maintenance or kitchen staff.

How much will it cost?
Although we do not have a set "fee" we humbly ask groups to provide a donation to assist us with upkeep, maintenance, utilities, and supplies while your group uses our facility.  Depending on the types of work projects, we would humbly ask for a donation of between $15-$25 per person per day for your stay.  (all inclusive)

Give us a call, as we would love to work with you to provide your volunteers a great place to serve on mission in Appalachia!
