Behavior

Our classroom rules are short and sweet, yet are general enough that they seem to cover every situation.

1. Be kind to others and yourself.

2. Be safe.

3. Follow directions the first time.

4. Always do your best!

In first grade we will have a “Star Board.” Each Child will start their day with a star. If a child is breaking a rule a warning will be given and they will put their name on the board and lose their star and change to green. If they continue breaking the same rule, or break another rule they will put a check next to their name and they will turn their color to yellow.

If they continue to make poor choices, they must change their color to red and a note will be sent home.  If poor choices are continually being made, a phone call is made or a note goes home. Sometimes an individual behavior plan may need to be arranged with different consequences or rewards. Depending on the circumstances, students may also be referred to the office for further disciplinary action.

Each Friday we will have Fun Friday where they can earn up to 30 minutes for free time to play games.

If a student keeps their star they earn 6 minutes towards Fun Friday and they get 1 Star Buck. Green earns 5 minutes, yellow earns 2 minutes, and red earns 0 minutes toward Fun Friday.

Each Friday we will also do treasure box and students can trade in their Star Bucks for items.
