6th Grade Volcano Brochure: Due Monday November 10, 2008
 
Brochures must include the following information about your assigned volcano:
  • Name of volcano
  • Location
    • Continent and plate
    • Country
    • Latitude and Longitude
  • Eruption history
  • Type of volcano
  • Interesting facts
  • Drawing or picture of volcano
  • Extra credit: a map showing the location

5th Grade Classification Project

 

Animal Book

 

Page 1: Cover of book with picture of animal and common name of animal

 

Page 2: Taxonomy as well as is available and scientific name

 

Page 3: Habitat: description (3-5 sentences) of where the animal lives and a map of where the animal is found in the world

 

Page 4: Adaptations: Specific adaptations the animals make to stay alive (camouflage, poison, thick skin etc).  3-5 sentences

 

Page 5: Diet: What the animal eats, is it an herbivore, omnivore, or carnivore, and how does it get its food.  3-5 sentences

 

Page 6: A Day in the Life: Use “I” in place of the animal name.  Write a story describing an entire day in the life of the animal from the time it wakes up to when it goes to sleep.  Include all key information.

 

 

 
6th Grade Planet Project : Complete poster due Friday September 26, 2008
 
Due Dates:
Title and History: Tuesday September 16, 2008
Physical Description: Friday September 19, 2008
Map: Monday September 22, 2008
Complete Poster: Friday September 26, 2008
 

Design a poster inviting people to visit your planet (imagine you are a travel agent for your planet).  The poster must include the following components:

 

1. Name of your planet in the poster title (e.g. Welcome to Mars)

2. Planet’s history:

            a. When it was discovered

            b. A description of the Roman god it was named after

3. Physical description

            a. Atmosphere

            b. Size

            c. Location in the solar system

            d. Description of moons

            e. Seasons?

            f. Temperature

            g. Description of the surface

4. A map of how to get to your planet from Earth

            a. The map must include a scale drawing of the solar system

            b. The map must indicate how long it will take to get to your planet
