I was born and raised in Fairbanks, Alaska. In high school I participated in a foreign exchange program and lived for a year in the Czech Republic. After high school, I completed two undergraduate degrees, in Psychology and Biology, at the University of Alaska, Fairbanks. In 2003 I moved to Orono, Maine where I attended graduate school. In 2006 I received my Masters of Science degree in Ecology and Environmental Science. For my MS degree I did research on the accumulation of heavy metals in different types of vegetation. After finishing school, I worked as an environmental outreach coordinator for a non-profit land trust and as a gifted and talented tutor for middle school science students. In the summer of 2008, I moved with my family to Tallahassee!
I am excited to be joining the team of middle school teachers here at Betton Hills!
