Week 4: The Source of Anglican Beliefs

From its sixteenth century beginning as a Church in its own right, the Anglican Church has neither been a 'confessional' church (i.e.: one based on a prescribed confession outlining beliefs and doctrines such as the Lutheran and Presbyterian Churches), nor a 'curial' church with a strong central authority structure that dictates norms and practices across the church such as the Roman Catholic Church. Christianity: The Complete Guide puts it like this: "Being neither 'confessional or 'curial', Anglicanism embraces an elasticity and latitude of theological practices and perspectives"

Week 5: Being an Anglican Today

In the Anglican practice of Christianity there is a lot of room for individuals to develop and express their faith. The principles of Anglicanism as identified in Studies Two and Three allow for a great deal of freedom to practise one's faith, but at the same time there are clear guidelines for all baptised and confirmed members of the Anglican Church.
