Birdsong Plant Sale

Guidelines for Donors Contributing Plants to the
Birdsong Old-Timey Plant SalE

1.   The sale is March 21, 2009 (the third Saturday in March). Plan ahead so your plants look great in their pots by then

2.   Use clean pots an appropriate size for the plant. Be sure there is not a nursery name or logo on the pots

3.   Make a label for each individual plant. Write the plant name on a label and stick it in the pot. We will provide plastic labels if needed

4.   Use potting soil or a mushroom compost mix if possible. Use your garden soil if necessary, but be extremely careful to avoid weed seeds and roots

5.   Use the Plant List page to provide information about each plant variety that you donate. We will use your information to make display signs for the sale. In order to get our paperwork done we will need this information by February 1, 2009. You may also give this information to your Birdsong contact person, or email it to Barbara Tomlinson  -- plantsale@beachton.com

6.   In order to get the sale set up and organized we will need to have all the plants between Tuesday, March 17 and Friday, March 20. We can help with transporting plants. Let your Birdsong contact person know if you need help

7.   We must be extremely careful not to sell (on purpose or by accident) any invasive plants, such as ardisia, nandina, tallow tree, English ivy, Boston fern, ligustrum, or any of the plants listed as a local exotic invasive species. Check the complete lists online at www.fleppc.org and www.gaeppc.org
