Throughout this retreat, there were many opportunities to explore the rhythm of Jesus' life through prayerful reading and reflection upon Scripture and by spending extended time in silence, solitude and attentive listening. Each morning and evening session served as an invitation to "waste time with God" by abiding with Christ in the peaceful pastures of rural Kansas. The Lord revealed himself to us in many wonderful ways during this retreat. Here are just a few comments from those in attendance: "The fellowship and laughter were very healing ... this retreat has been a great blessing to my soul." "The freedom of the schedule really helped me let go ... I loved this retreat." "It was obligation-free ... being with Jesus, not just talking about him, was the focus ... I felt I could really connect with God." "It really helped me to find Jesus and hear his voice."
If you missed this retreat, don't panic ... there are more to come! Our next guided retreat is tentatively scheduled for May 21-23, 2010. Stay tuned for more details!

*A number of our faculty members are available to lead community retreats, seminars, conferences and consultations for churches and other Christian ministries throughout the year. At Barclay College, we are deeply committed to the health and vitality of the local church, in all its varied expressions. Whether your faith community is considered traditional or contemporary, denominational or independent, seeker-sensitive, purpose-driven, missional or emergent (or all of the above), we are on your side! For more than 90 years we have been preparing men and women for "effective Christian life, service and leadership" in and through the body of Christ. Our desire is to serve as catalysts for spiritual renewal in the lives of church leaders and the ministries they serve. Our faculty have been blessed with a wealth of experience in pastoral ministry, youth ministry, music ministry, missions, evangelism, church planting, discipleship, counseling and spiritual direction. (See our faculty page for more information). We would consider it a great privilege to partner with you in providing leadership for your next retreat, seminar, conference or consultation. |
