Holly is our Office Manager at Avalon School.  She first heard about Avalon before it materialized as her family shared a friendship with Andrea (Avalon's first lead teacher) and her family.  Holly also knew of Avalon because she worked at Hamline University (Avalon's sponsor) for 10.5 years in various positions in the Grad School, the Law School, and the College of Liberal Arts.  After leaving Hamline, Holly worked at a charter high school in Dinkytown for 2.5 years until mid-December 2008 when she arrived (back) at Avalon.

 

Besides sending both of her children to Avalon for all four of their respective high school years (grads in '07 and '08), Holly was also instrumental in Avalon's volunteering community for more than five years.  She worked extensively with the theatre department (mentoring stage managers) and the library, not to mention the APA (Avalon Parent Association) and related activities.  "The parent meetings were the very best way for me to connect, network, and to learn about the Avalon community and what exceptional work can be accomplished at this school."

 

Holly is a certified practitioner of Tellington Touch, a method of creating balance through skin cells in living creatures (She works on animals and people, mostly.), and loves to spend her spare time watching the results appear before her eyes.  She is always on the lookout for special ways to celebrate others.  Holly is truly dedicated to her family and their pets.  And, finally, Holly encourages you to join in the fun of supporting Avalon students, whether it's through cheering at basketball games or watching presentations.  "Spread yourjoy and generosity!"
