April is a newcomer to Avalon this year. She is currently a graduate
student intern from Argosy University providing individual and family
therapy services to Avalon students and their families (under the
supervision of a licensed professional). She received her Bachelor's
Degree in Psychology in the Fall of 2005 from the University of
Wisconsin - Madison, and is currently pursuing her Master's Degree in
Marriage (Couples) and Family Therapy at Argosy. She has a passion for
women's health and LGBTQI concerns. She has previously worked as an advocate and crisis line support contact for sexual assault survivors. She has also co-facilitated support groups for teenage survivors of sexual assault. When not at Avalon she works as a Behavior Therapist for the Minnesota Autism Center. On her downtime she enjoys watching movies, reading books, and playing with her two cats. |
