The Barrier Social Club

Soccer Club

June 2008

Well the rain came down…..

Soccer has been a rather muddy affair the last few weeks, it’s fabulous fun running round in the mud but not too good for the field so this week we had heaps of fun playing games down on the tennis court.

While having all this fun we were learning how to throw a ball in correctly, learning how to kick with good direction, force and skill and of course learning a few more of the rules as we go along…me included!

Each year I find some fabulous helpers whom bring their own skills and energy to the game.

Our first year I had the wonderful Davey Roast and Bert Vowden, last year Christina Spence and Bert again were awesome (plus all the wonderful soccer mom’s and Dads) This year I have Ethan and Peaches Koller whom come as a package deal with two very enthusiastic parents. Once again the season is turning out a huge success.

We must have had at least 40 kids this weekend and heaps of parents along to support their little champs.

We have enough players for two separate teams, the older kids enjoy the skills of Ethan and Peaches, and I look after the little roos. It’s all working out perfectly.

I am absolutely wrapped, I started his little club hoping to encourage a sport all the family could be involved in and it certainly has come to fruitition, everyone is so keen and having heaps of fun.

Any one interested just come along each Saturday 10.30am at Tryphena Club or give me a call on 4290039, more the merrier.
