Climate The average temperature in Bangkok at this period is between 28-33 Degree Celsius. Light clothes you are advised.
Air Port Pick up There will be no airport pick-up . Public taxi at the airport is available at the airport. Please note that you should use PUBLIC taxi ONLY. Public Taxis are found outside gate number 10 at the arrival hall. Ignore touts who ask to take you. There are signs which will take you to the public taxi. The public taxi from the airport usually charge 50 baht fee over the normal meter amount youwill also need to pay the toll fees. The total amount of the taxi fare from the airport to the hotel should not be more than 350 Baht. Public taxi from the airport will give you the paper which states their license plate . Please keep that paper for the reimbursement from us. Please note we will not reimburse anything other than public taxi.
Money Exchange Generally there are many places for money exchange around Bangkok. We encourage you to do some money exchange at the airport already for the taxi fare cost.
Language spoken Thai is the first language for Thailand. Most of the attractions will have staff who speak English but generally, Thai people do not speak much of English. It is helpful to have a map in Thai or learn a bit of Thai before you come.
Check-In If your flight arrive Bangkok at day time, you can check in at the reception office by the left side of the entrance of the Student Christian Center. If your flight arrives at night, the reception office will be closed so you will be checking in with the security guard who will help you register, guide you to the room and help you carry your luggage. There are no elevators or luggage carts so be sure to carry luggage you can carry yourself.
Venue Most participants will be staying at the The
Student Christian Center is a quite place used by students, and
cause-oriented groups in Thailand. It has a garden and a small park.
It is located near one of the biggest shopping centers in Bangkok.
One landmark to locate it is that it is next to Asia Hotel . Some participants have been booked at a nearby hotel called the Reno Hotel. Its a five minute walk from the conference Venue. Participants staying at the Reno Hotel will be notified accordingly.
Accomodation Lodgings will be at the Student Christian Center. Your accommodation will be a twin sharing room. The security guard will help you locate the rooms. The rooms are basic, each having an air conditioner, hot and cold water shower.
Food upon arrival There is a canteen located within the center. Breakfast will be provided at the canteen. Breakfast time will be served until 9 am only. In the evening, the canteen closes by 6 PM. There are many other eating places around the SCC, opposite the road and towards Siam Square Area. Please note that SCC’s gate will be closed by 12 PM every night night so if you go outside for a meal or taking sightseeing, make sure you come back by 12 PM
Internet Café There is no internet café available within the venue. However, there are internet cafés just outside the Center (turn left upon exiting the front gate). You can get wifi hot spots for which you will have to buy suscriptions, such as TRUE wifi.

Reimbursement The reimbursement form will be given at the registration on the first day of meeting. If you do not have one, please ask for it. PLEASE bring original Reciepts and invoice of the ticket and visa fees (if any)RETAIN your BOARDING PASS. We may not be able to reimburse your tickets if you lose any of this.
Books and materials Books and materials will be put out on the registration desk. You are welcome to exhibit your own materials but you will be setting them up by yourself. Participants selling books or materials are also responsible for looking after their own products and sales.
Photocopying documents If you need to photocopy, please inform Sirinat so that she can arrange for the photocpying.
Transportation The Rachatawee Station of the skytrain (BTS) is a few meters from the Center. It can take you to other places in the city. Upon stepping out front of the Center, walk to the left until you reach the BTS station. Grab a map by the coin exchange counter to locate your destination. Taxis are also readily available at all hours in Bangkok. The flag down rate is 35 Thai baht and two baht are added per designated number of kilometers.
Phone calls No phone calls made by participants in their rooms or in the venue will be paid by AMRC so please take care to pay for all your calls.
In-room bar Food and beverages you consume inside the room’s refrigerator or bar (if any) is charged to you, except the complimentary bottle of water, if provided. There are stores near the center from where you can buy snacks. AMRC will NOT cover any of these costs
Laundry costs No laundry costs will be covered by AMRC. These costs are fully borne by participants themselves.
