Body Art is an artistic application of cosmetics comprised of various applications from face painting, glamor makeup, tattooing, to full body art.
No matter what the preference is, we all stand united in our passion for it.
It's used for a variety of reasons in today’s culture, from entertainment as a child has their face painted with a fun design, to a bride adorning herself for her groom, to soldiers being protect by camouflage, to a group of individuals uniting in identity, or an artist creating an elaborate masterpiece on a model. Brief History:
Dating back to ancient times, body art applications were used for religious reasons, adornment, hunting and protection.
No matter what purpose cultural history used body art, it almost always boiled down to one thing, it stood for unity.
Body art debatably dates back to 12,000 years BC, its purposes varying from culture to culture.
4000 BC - First evidence of face art was found in Ancient Egypt.

By the 20th Century body art took major first steps in the western world of cosmetics.
During the 60's face painting made a come back to the market when the younger generation painted flowers and peace signs on their faces as an expression of anti-war, peace and love. These designs are still popular with today’s crowd.
