OpenProximity Center

About

OpenProximity is software for Linux that allows an advertiser or information provider to deliver offers or information to cell phones in close proximity via Bluetooth using the OBEX profile.

Our goal is to give advertisers all the tools to easily build good proximity marketing applications.

OpenProximity is an Open Source project hosted at Google Code. The main target for this project is to create a complete Open Source solution for Proximity Marketing that can share market with any of the current available proprietary commercial applications. The project gets it's fundings from particulars and anyone interested on it.

AIRcable is providing fundings to the project but also has  people working on it and it's providing some services like ready to use solutions like the Server XR. More services are coming in the way including support, training and web content providing. In the mean time you might consider buying a Server XR or donating to OpenProximity if you consider it good enough so it can evolve into the very best Proximity Marketing solution.

AIRcable's long range Bluetooth radio, the AIRcable Host XR, makes Proximity Marketing very exciting. It is able to communicate to cell phones and other small Bluetooth class 2 radios at a much greater distance. We have tested the range between 100m and 600m to a cell phone.
