The MobileServerXR is based on a small 8.5" mini notebook from Acer or eeePC, depending on availability. The laptop has a 120G hard drive, 1G memory, 1.6GHz Atom processor and Wifi. The price includes the standard size battery, but 6 cell batteries are available for about $50 more.

We install Linux on the hard drive and as well as OpenProximity 2.0 software with web based campaign management. Our Linux is Ubuntu based and has drivers for all of the netbook's hardware, including the Atheros Wifi chip.

The package includes ONE AIRcable Host XR long range Bluetooth radio and ONE short range Bluetooth dongle as well. can use the short range radio as the scanner and the Host XR as the uploader.

The standard Windows XP is still installed using the first part of the hard drive. You can boot Windows XP as well.
