Oglethorpe Power Corporation (OPC) knew that they had to find a way to allow users in the organization to easily contribute content to the website, removing that burden from IT. From a customer’s perspective, attendees will learn about ECM through seamless integration into business applications and the factors that influence the implementation of a document imaging solution. __________________________________________ Using Taxonomies to Improve Search 10:30 - 11:45am Seth Earley of Earley & Associates, Concord, MA Since taxonomy is a core organizing principle of a content management application and related search tools, there are numerous ways to influence search recall and precision by using thesaurus structures and taxonomies. Even search appliances can leverage taxonomies, and integrated search applications can maintain context of federated search using taxonomies. This session covers a variety of ways that you can integrate and fully leverage large public taxonomies as well as apply small controlled vocabularies in search applications and search systems. Dakota County will show how they opened their OnBase purchasing documents to users via a SharePoint portal. Billy Cripe is the author of the book Reshaping Your Business with Web 2.0. Billy is the Director of Product Management for Oracle Enterprise Content Management Products. He has worked in the ECM industry since 1999, has degrees in communications, philosophy, and political science, is a technophile, oenophile and an avid Sci-Fi Fantasy reader and Star Wars fanboy.
