| Assignments 1. Watch the videos (on the right) on photography basics, composition, lighting, shutter speed and aperture. (12 in all.) Write a paragraph about what you learned in each video. 2. Take 5 pictures concentrating on each of the vantage points and techniques listed below and upload those pictures to a computer and an on line photo website such as Photo Bucket, Flickr or Picnik or other approved choice. Shape (examples) Repetition (examples) **Create a 20 slide Google Presentation (or other approved choice) about composition techniques in photography you saw in the videos and you used. 3. Find five useful videos on photography and/or photography concepts and post them to this site with a paragraph explaining what concepts the videos cover. 4. Complete the Terminology (see attachments below) for Digital Photography. 5. Take 40 unique pictures of a paper clip and create a Google slide show. 6. Research the top five photo file formats for images and write a paragraph about each. Describe how each format works and in what situation they are used for. (remember to site your sources.) 7. Import your pictures in to a graphics program (Picasa, Picnik, Photo Shop or Fireworks) and use the basic features (see attachments below)of the graphics program. (Explain the features you used.) 8. Research two photographers and write a one 500 word paper about each. What were their styles? Why are they significant? other information you think is important... (remember to site your sources.) 9. Determine what your photo style is and create a photo essay. Upload your photo story to Flickr.com or Photot Bucket.com or other approved choice. 10. Research copyright issues and how copyright relates to photos. Look at the Creative Commons site and write a one page paper on copyright and how it pertains to your digital photographs. How will you copyright your photographs? 11. Create a portrait photo story in the program "Photo Story." This Photo story must have at least 15 slides and include motions, captions, music, transitions and effects. This project should reflect your style. 12. Research secondary schools and school offerings related to photography/digital photography. Write a one page paper about where one can earn a degree, pay, outlook and other important information. You can go to WOIS for this information. 13. Find five useful videos on photography and/or photography concepts and post them to this site with a paragraph explaining what concepts the videos cover. 14. Write a one page reflection about this whole photography project. Include what you enjoyed, what you would change, what was difficult, what was interesting and what ever else you would like to include. 15. Create a Digital Photography portfolio and include all your assignments. Your portfolio can be in digital or hard copy format. |
