Mobile LiDAR is an excellent resource for land planning. A point cloud 3 to 4 meters off the ground captures everything you would see while driving down the road. As a land planner working on park beautification along the Arkansas River, wouldn't it be nice to have a visual record of the site prior to commencement of work and after the project is finished? Mobile LiDAR data not only verifies the placement of trees, it can be analyzed for the correct placement of the trees. The mobile LiDAR data can also show if the placement of any landscaping elements obstruct the view of drivers along the roadway corridor.
