    2. Click on the Sign-in option.

Things to remember before Activating Ancestry DNA Account

    1. You should be careful about your activation code. Keep your activation code very safe until you get the test results.

    2. You can’t get your test results unless you activate Ancestry DNA Kit.

    3. Every user must activate the Ancestry DNA account while taking up the test. On one account, you can activate only a singular DNA kit.

    4. Create a new email id. If your current email id is in use with an activated account.

    5. DNA kit will match your kit with your Ancestry account. You must create a user account before activating any kit.

Procedure to Activate Ancestry DNA Kit

    1. Go to the browser and paste the URL ancestrydna.com/activate.

    2. If you have an account on Ancestry DNA, enter your username and password and click sign in.

    3. If you want to create a new account, click on Create an account.

    4. Click on the Next button.

    5. Now, enter the activation code that you have received on your tube or instruction packet.

    6. Tap on the Next button.

    7. Don’t use the hyphen while entering the character.

    8. Go ahead with the next option based on the test. If you want to take a test, click on your name. If the test is allotted for a child, click on the My Child option.

    9. Now, enter your Gender and Date of Birth.

    13. Now change your setting whether you want to see yourself with DNA matches or not. If yes, click on the Yes. If your choice is no, click on the No option.

    14. Allow your username, location, and ethnicity to display to your DNA matches. If you want, click on the Yes option. If you choose No, this page will not be visible to your device.

    15. Choose what you want other DNA matches to see. Based on the given option, choose anyone.

    16. If you want an update on the kit status, click option Yes, and provide your contact number.

    17. At last, click Review and read all the information. Click Submit and Activate.

How to Sign In and Out of your Ancestry Account

For Sign in

  • Go to the website https://www.ancestry.com/dna/.

  • See the top-right corner of your screen and click Sign in.

  • Enter your username and password on the box. Click the Sign in option.

  • By chance, if you have forgotten your password. Click on the Forgot Password option.

  • You will get a link from Ancestry DNA on your email id. Click on the link to renew your password.

  • After Signing in, you need to do a two-step verification code. Check your mail and enter the verification code on the box every time you sign in to your account.

  • Choose Remember this device.

For Sign Out

  • For Signing out, you must be logged in.

  • Go to the main page of the website. Click on your name or username appears at the top-right corner of your screen.

  • Tap Sign out from the device.

How to Reset your Forgot Ancestry DNA Password

    1. Go to the website ancestrydna.com/activate.

    2. Click on the Sign in option.

    3. Tap on the Forgot option.

    4. You will be redirected to another screen. Click Reset your password option.

    5. Enter your email id on the same screen and click on the Continue.

    6. On your given email id, you will get a mail to reset your password.

    7. Click on the link that comes from the Ancestry DNA to generate a new password.

    8. You will be redirected to the login page. Enter your new password in the box and confirm your new password.

    9. Click Save.

Note: Your password must be eight to 24 characters long, containing letters, symbols, and numbers.

How to Cancel a Membership or a Free Trial on Ancestry DNA

    1. Visit the Ancestry DNA website via ancestrydna.com/activate and click Sign in (that appears at the top-right of your screen).

    2. Go to the Membership section and click the Cancel Membership option.

    3. If you didn’t find a Cancel Membership option means your account doesn’t have a membership. But Ancestry DNA is charging you for membership. Then you must be using another Ancestry account.

    4. If you want to renew your membership for up to 2 months. Click Pause Membership> Continue - select month - Pause.

    5. You must provide a cancellation reason to the website and click Continue.

    6. Click on the Continue option.

    7. Scroll down the page. Click Cancel my Membership, and your membership will be canceled automatically.

    8. Check the expiry date on your Account settings page. Check your mailbox registered with the Ancestry account and see if you have received a cancellation confirmation. Now your membership has been canceled.
