The Andover Chinese Language School Chorus, comprised of parents, local residents and friends,
was formed in September, 2003. Since its inception, the chorus has performed regularly in Andover and
throughout New England areas. The chorus has participated in the “Li Guyi Concert” and the
“Yellow River Cantata” in Jordan Hall and at Yale University. Members from the chorus also participated in
“The 4th International Choir Olympic Games” in July of 2006 with the Boston Eastern Heritage Chorus which
won silver and bronze awards. The Chorus was initially under the guidance of Director Ms. Huang Liu, and is now
directed by acclaimed Director Mr. Wanjun Qiao and piano accompanist Ms. Ling Guo. The chorus meets
weekly to practice, improve singing skills, and expand musical knowledge. The goal of the chorus is to develop
friendships, improve singing skills, promote Chinese culture in our community, and enhance
cross-cultural exchanges within Andover and the local communities.
The Andover Chinese Language School Chorus is one of the chorus groups joined the North America Choral
Association (NACA), and participated in the "Sounds of Harmony" Concert organized by NACA in September, 2007.
