In 50 years? In 500 years?

C. How do people find out about your Utopia? Do people accidentally stumble across it through exploration? Is a member of the society telling the story of the utopia?

 

 

Venus is a planet that is located about three solar systems away from Earth. It was discovered through exploration of our universe in 2500. They discovered old ruins that resembled Greek architecture spread over several islands that were very near to the mainland. Several historians, professional musicians and professors monopolized the place to set up a school that covered the grades up through graduate collage and in all subjects. It was set up like the ancient Greek civilization, although it has modern technology built into it. For the first 5 years, not many people saw it as a good place to live. But as it grew, it built a reputation for the best education. In 50 years, they had to establish a test in order to enter. If you didn't earn at least a 90%, you were not excepted. After 500 years, you had to earn a 100% in order to get in. It became an exclusive school for only the smartest people. The test started out simple, though as the years passed it became harder and harder. You could enter at any grade level. The tests varied from grade to grade. The students could stay or leave once they had graduated. All around the galaxy, it became a mark of respect to say you had gone to Venus for schooling. If you stayed, you could become a professor or take another job to help maintain the society. The whole society was built upon knowledge, appreciation of beauty and the arts(music, painting, sculpture, etc, etc,). If you choose a career in the arts, you where very highly respected, considered the top of the society. You where given a job to take care of when you went to school. When you graduated, you could keep the same job or take a new one. While some people might believe that you had to be beautiful as well as smart to enter, this was not the case. As long as you passed the requirements for the test you were accepted. If you choose to stay and raise a family, the child had to pass a test in order to be schooled there.
