III. Culture, Social Customs, and Family StructureA. Education of citizens is an important aspect in most civilizations. How will this Utopia respond to the following issues: 1. Who will have access to education and how will they access it? Hi. My name is Mackenzie Hukenbuakembetta and I am headed of to school. I go to the London North Side School District. I am in Mrs. Willson's class. I am in elementary school while my sister is in middle school. My brother is in high school and my other brother is in college. My younger sisters are in nursery school and kindergarten. My favorite class is Digging 103. Although all the classes I have are mandatory. I have science, math, social studies and language arts. I also have P.E. which is hard in the dirt. 2. What will be taught and how will it be taught? science, math, social studies and language arts, P.E., and digging 103. Science will be taught by teachers. Although plant life will hardly be taught....... Math will be taught by teachers and parents. Counting dirt pellets is a major part....... Social Studies will be taught by parents. Will give info on the nuclear attacks.......... Language Arts will be taught by the teacher with the books that we saved.......... P.E. will be taught by the teachers. Running through the tunnels is mandatory...... Digging 103 is taught by teachers. Shovels are neccessary............... 3. What is the value placed on the role of Educators? The educators are important but people do not worship them. B. How will this Utopia address the following issues regarding religion? i. State sanctioned religion (one official religion) vs. multiple religious traditions There will be many religions because the world comes together here. ii. If a state sanctioned religion, what level of observance will be required? What will enforcement procedures entail?
iii. Observance of eastern and western religions as they currently exist vs. the creation of a new religion or many new religions? There will be the same religions no new ones. C. Arts and Entertainment: Most great societies encourage the flourishing of the full range of human talents. (Note: do not address censorship in this section; see the Government section) How will this Utopia accommodate the following activities: 1. Literature (fiction, nonfiction, poetry, drama, etc.) the more readings and literature the better. One because its great and two because all or most of the books in the world were destroyed. 2. Fine arts (painting, sculpture, drawing, acting, dance, etc.) Fine arts is accepted also because it adds color and life to the dirt hallways. 3. Music (instrumental - classic, instrumental - contemporary, vocal, etc.) Music is nice because it will also add life to the halls 4. Film (documentary, animation, fiction, etc.) Film is wonderful but it is very hard to do because of the dirt lifestyle. 5. Sports Sports are a form of entertainment but they are hard to accomodate. 6. Value placed on the role of Artists and Athletes The value placed upon these people are very high because it is a great talent if they can perform what they do. D. Food: Will this Utopia have a national dish? What will be the prevailing cultural attitude toward food? (For example, necessary evil or daily joy?) The national dish consists of all of the foods of the world!!!!!!!!!!! E. How has your Utopia dealt with the following isues of social customs: 1. New vs. Old Holidays All holidays are celebrated and new holidays like Nuke day and tunnel day will be added. 2. Social Classes (Are different groups of people viewed differently?) No everyone is viewed the same except for athletes or artists. 3. Notoriety, Celebrity, and Respect Everyone is respected the same amount though. 4. Life goals, Hopes, and Dreams Everyone's dreams are respected and everyone will help people reach them. F. How are families structured in your Utopia? (Is there a concept of marriage? How do children interact with their elders?) There is a limit on children because of space. A family can only have two children and if they have three then they will be accomodated. But it is NOT reccommended G. How do men and women relate to one another?
How they would in the real world. If in the past culture men and women were respected the same then they will. Although if the men were respected more then women or vise versa then they will be.
