| A. Describe and, if possible, name the informing political philosophy of this Utopia (for example, Democracy, Monarchy, etc.) This is a democracy because everybody is helping to make a decision. There are no representatives in the society when it first started, because the population was too small. Everyone just agreed on the best decision for the society. But when the society grows, there will be representatives but no president. C. Describe the level of participation (do you do them) and how they are accomplished for the following governmental activities: i. Choosing/removing leaders: We don't have any leaders to choose or remove. But we choose representatives randomly in the society. When te representatives are chosen, they stay a representative for one year. Then we choose another. ii. Creating/changing laws: Everybody decides on what the law should be. First it starts out with one civilian who thinks of an idea. He spreads it out throughout the whole island. If anybody has any objections, they have to give their reason. Then the whole town makes it or does't make it a law. E. How does this government support or suppress the expression of individual ideas? Well if a citizen has an idea, he has to put it on the air. Every citizen in this utopia has access to directly add something to the air, without permission. Once he puts his idea on the air, it will be hear in some way by every citizen of this utopia. The citizens will not get pentalized for a bad or useless idea because it will eventually transform into an idea that will benefit the whole society. F. What are the methods and means of law enforcement and military operations (both peace keeping and war making): 1. At the local level? The citizens are the police men. If someone comits a crime, the witness would have to call the questioner. The questioner would ask questions to the commiter of the crime and se why he did it. If the crime is so bad, the commiter will be kicked out of the society. They will then be able to come back after 2 years. But if the crime is minor, the citizen will have to stay in rehab for two weeks. But the reason for a crime is jealousy, and we have abolished jealousy in this utopia. The other reason for a crime is because of a grudge, but the act of rudeness is non-existent in this utopia.We don't have a military system because our island is so small. But when we move to a larger island, we might think of geting a military system, but we are in no contact with any others so I don't se why we need one. |
