A. How will this Utopia come into being? Be very specific about
deliberate creation versus accidental creation. My Utopia is located around the world. In 2820 the world is sucked dry of water. The whole world is land. Overpopulation has led to lack of food and natural resources. Pollution is the known cause of over 1.5 million deaths over the last 5 years. As temperatures are over 130 degrees Fahrenheit, everyday is hot. The Earth is a barren place. The ozone layer is almost destroyed. On March 28, 2822 a fire starts. The cause is unknown. It spreads wildly with nothing to stop it. After 3 months, the fire dwindles to nothing. The whole world is ashes. A few people remain alive. They band together and form a society, the Competition Society of Those Few Who Survived, more commonly known as Live to Compete. What my Utopia is based on and why it will work...
My Utopia is based on competition. Limited resources remain on Earth and you have to compete to use them. In order to buy something, drink or eat something, or do anything else that used up a resource you had to play a game of Stick and Puck (See question B). Stick and puck could be 1 on 1 or 6 on 6 depending on how many people wanted that resource at that time. The loser had to try and get it at a different time and the winner got it. (If a team won the resource was split evenly between each member.) If a person was about to die if they didn't get a specific resource (such as medicine, water, or food) then a certain amount was given freely to them. Can choose what they do. Some will play with electronics and some would practice stick and puck. The people who practice are probably better and are going to win so they would become "rich". People who are lazy are hurting themselves. People who work hard deserve better things than lazy people. See the rules of stick and puck.
B. What is the time line for the creation and development of this Utopia?
If you began building tomorrow, where will your society be in 5 years? In 50 years? In 500 years? As soon as the fire stopped burning the members of Live to Compete, or LTC, started building a perfect place for themselves. For entertainment the citizens came up with a game called Stick and Puck. The rules and objectives of Stick and Puck were very similar to hockey. The equipment needed was also very similar. Hockey was lost through the ages. As the water supply dwindled hockey players couldn't make ice. Only a few devoted Canadians still knew the rules of hockey. These are the people who lead my Utopia. After 5 years the Utopia was complete. Everything was based upon competition, more specifically a game called Stick and Puck. As time goes on my Utopia made the necessary advancements but was determined not to make the same mistakes as the humans before them did.
C. How do people find out about your Utopia? Do people accidentally stumble across it through exploration? Is a member of the society telling the story of the utopia? Because my Utopia is the only civilization left alive, everyone knows about it. At first there were only 10 members of the LTC. They traveled around the world and had more people join. |

I like how you took the idea of competition, like in Hockey. Then you added it to your Utopia as the theme. I have some questions, will all the people be equal at playing Stick and Puck, or will some be better than others? If some are better than others, will those be the ones to get the resources? If so, then you will still have the idea of some being extremely rich with resources, and the weak would be living with no resources. How long would your Utopia allow these people to live with no resources before you start giving them free resources?
