A. Education of citizens is an important aspect in most civilizations.
How will this Utopia respond to the following issues: 1. Who will have access to education and how will they access it? Everyone who wants to have an education will get one. The LTC gives everyone a choice in that matter. If you hate school and education you do not have to get one. School will be held in the professor's house. It was normally held over the internet but since the fire destroyed everything there is only 1 public computer and the chairman (leader) has 1. (See government on more about the chairman.) 2. What will be taught and how will it be taught? Anything that is fact will be taught to students. School looks very similar to what it does here now. By mouth, hands, and aid of whatever available, the teachers and professors will teach. Advanced classes are available for those who wish to take them. These classes just move along faster than the normal ones.
3. What is the value placed on the role of Educators? They are regarded like every other person because of the 1st commandment which states "All men are equal and deserve the same respect". The chairman is the only person who is regarded of higher respect (see government on why).
B. How will this Utopia address the following issues regarding religion? i. State sanctioned religion (one official religion) vs. multiple religious traditions The LTC allows any religion under the 1st commandment which states "All men are equal and deserve the same respect". All races, religions, cultures, etc. get the same respect. Failure to comply can result in being thrown out of the LTC.
ii. If a state sanctioned religion, what level of observance will be required? What will enforcement procedures entail? People can worship whenever they want and for any amount of time. Again under the first commandment "All men are equal and deserve the same respect." nobody will be judged for going to worship or not going to worship.
iii. Observance of eastern and western religions as they currently exist vs. the creation of a new religion or many new religions? New religions spring up but old ones stay. New ones arise as people doubt their old God or Holy Leader because they think that They started the fire. The main religions are Judaism, Christianity, and Buddhism.
C. Arts and Entertainment: Most great societies encourage the flourishing of the full range of human talents. (Note: do not address censorship in this section; see the Government section) How will this Utopia accommodate the following activities: 1. Literature (fiction, nonfiction, poetry, drama, etc.) In the LTC fiction and poetry along with drama isn't very important. It is not censored but most people just choose to use their time in better ways. Non-fiction is very important in the LTC because information is passed down through books. 2. Fine arts (painting, sculpture, drawing, acting, dance, etc.) Drawing and painting are the only fine arts that the LTC thinks matters. To clarify things that have happened or are in history books people draw or paint what happened. Sculptures are used very rarely because very few people are talented enough to make them, and they are made only honor great people. 3. Music (instrumental - classic, instrumental - contemporary, vocal, etc.) All types of music are welcome in the LTC. People like listening to music and some creative people are very good at making music. Rock music is the most listened to. Many people listen to music right before a game of stick and puck to get pumped up. ![]() 4. Film (documentary, animation, fiction, etc.) Once again fiction is not popular in movies. People don't waist their time to go to something that can entertain them when they can be helping out their family by competing. Documentaries are very important for documenting special things that happened and that should be remembered forever. 5. Sports Sports are regarded with respect because sports have competition which the LTC likes. At the beginning of the LTC the only sport is stick and puck. As time goes on citizens start throwing a ball around and come up with a stick that has a net on top and came up with lacrosse. 6. Value placed on the role of Artists and Athletes The value of both is very high. Athletes are a bit more common than artists but they are pretty much regarded with the same respect. The artists usually are in art competitions and the athletes in games of stick and puck. D. Food: Will this Utopia have a national dish? What will be the prevailing cultural attitude toward food? (For example, necessary evil or daily joy?) Food is regarded highly. Because of the shortage there is no national dish. It is a joy and happiness to have food everyday but most families eat a good sized meal every 2-6 days. Most people drink water every 2-3 days and every day if you're lucky. A certain amount of water is provided in games of stick and puck for the athletes.
![]() E. How has your Utopia dealt with the following issues of social customs: 1. New vs. Old Holidays New and old holidays are welcome. If someone discriminates against someone because of a holiday they celebrate or there religion etc. they will be punished. The punishment varies depending on how serious the infraction was.
2. Social Classes (Are different groups of people viewed differently?) Under the first commandment, all social classes are viewed the same. Some people may be richer than others in food, money, stick and puck equipment, or other things but they get no more respect than other people.
3. Notoriety, Celebrity, and Respect Some people may have heroes or look up to people but under the first commandment no one can be discriminated against for who they look up to but also no one deserves more respect. You can admire someone and show them more respect they don't have to have it.
4. Life goals, Hopes, and Dreams Most kids' dreams are to be the best in stick and puck. A pro league is established when the resources are around to do so. At the beginning of the LTC most goals were to survive and create a society. As time goes on the hopes and dreams change to what different people want. It is a utopia to everyone.
F. How are families structured in your Utopia? (Is there a concept of marriage? How do children interact with their elders?) Family are structured according to how long you went to school (you knowledge), your age, and you past (if it is good or bad). Even though everyone is equal people respect their elders all there life. They have experienced more and usually have more knowledge. All members of the family are close and relatives are called the same as they are here. Marriage is allowed so that the LTC can have more young people fill the places of the deceased although the child limitation number is 4. G. How do men and women relate to one another? Men and women have the same rights, and can do everything the other can do. These is enforced by law because of the ruling of the 1st commandment. |
