Katy(superk54)'s Unique Features of this Utopia

Please use this section to elaborate on special aspects of your Utopia which did not fit any category on the proposal form. The following are some suggestions of how to extend your utopia:
A. Questions about daily life in your utopia:
1. How does your utopia deal with birth and death?

When a child is born, it is given to the mother that had it.  If the mother is unable to raise the child or already has the four children, then the child will be given to another family who either is unable to have children, or just wants the child.  Birth is a celebrated occation.  People join and have a feast and give the baby a name.  Death is also celebrated.  People gather and celebrate the person's life and accomplishments, and the person is buried or cremated.

2. What is beautiful in the eyes of your citizens?

Many things are beautiful in the eyes of the citizens.  Most citizens find knowledge and the gaining of it beautiful.

3. What is the safeguard on corruption in your society?

The Committee set up rules and commandments to keep the society from becoming corrupt.  If people break the laws and commandments, they will be punished.  See the government section for more information.
4. How does your utopia deal with human nature (the flaws, sins, and evil that inevitably arise in any society)?

People are people.  There is no way to prevent them from doing silly things like lying.  If a person is caught doing one of these things, then they will have to apologize to the person/people the mistake affected, confess to the Committee, and do whatever possible to fix the mistake.  They will not be severely punished (sent to prison or dismissed from the society).

B. What are the "what if" questions and answers that could break a society?

What if the island runs out of resources?  The people will move back to the United States and begin a new society based on the same things there.
What if a member of the Committee becomes corrupt?  The person in the Committee and anyone it affected will be removed, and new leaders will be elected.
What if someone born into Pascopolis decides they don't like to learn?  The Educators will find something that the person likes to learn about, and they will learn about that.

C. What is the qualification guide for entering (or staying) in your utopia?

To enter the society:
  1. People who want to be in this society must be able to convince the Committee that the society is right for them and be able to prove that they will help the society.
  2. People must speak English, or another language that at least one other person in the society speaks, so that there is no communication trouble.  (Once they are fully established in the society, if they speak a language other than English, then they will immediately be taught English, which is the main language of the society.
  3. People must promise to obey the Commandments.
To stay in the society:
  1. Citizens must do their jobs fully and thoroughly.  All jobs are essential to a society, and those who do not do their jobs well are not helping the society be successful.
  2. Citizens must not break major laws more than once.  Breaking major laws twice will result in removal from the society.
  3. Citizens must not publicly criticize the society or the society's ideas.  Doing so may result in removal from the society (depending on how far the criticisms had gone and what was being criticized).  If they have a problem with the society, then they must have a way to resolve the problem, even before seeing the Committee.  Then they may take their idea to the Committee who will carefully consider the idea, and talk with other people in the society (to see if others agree with the idea), and decide if a change needs to be made.
  4. Obey the Commandments.
  D. What are the Maps, Seals, Flags, interactive 3d models of your utopia?
