Rainforest Tribe:
Year one: number of women: 11, men:13, children: 6
Year fifty: number of women: 16, men: 19, children: 17
Year five hundred: number of women: 77, men: 68, children: 63
From the original 40, ten died on the way to the center of the island. But After 50 years they recovered in numbers, prospering from the lush area. After 500 years the tribe had reaped the benefit of the land and had made many wondrous things that kept the people alive and happy. The people also found that children are the key to the future, and without children, there is no future generations to continue to prosper and take care of the land. The two other tribes realized this as well.
A drawing of an Ono.
Year one: number of women: 7, men: 10, children 8
Year fifty: number of women: 8, men: 11, children: 12
Year five hundred: number of women: 48, men: 47, children: 43
From the original 40, fifteen died in the first year. The sun beat down on the group that was to be the Desert Tribe like a flaming mace. Many elderly and children died of heat stroke and water loss. And to add to that, there was Sand Worms that stalked them every day, just wating for on to lag behind. Kargoks also swooped at the heads of the people, hoping to draw blood from their dry scalps. But when teh time finally came when they arrived at the cool, shaded valley, there had been many mournful nights. But over 50 years they worked and toiled, trying to make a living on the dry sand of the island. Farming was hard work and almost impossible. They tribe found things to eat such as the Sand trout who swam in the sand using not eyes but feelers on their face, they found ways to milk a Sand Worm, and started on plans for great stone monumental structures that would protect the people in the huge sandstorms of fall and winter. After 500 years the structures were complete. They became places of refuge and a safe haven for the elderly and children. It was the place that Entertainment workers spent most of their time. The soceirty had grown into a full fleged "desert-mastering" whole.
Mountain Tribe:
Year one: number of women: 5, men: 4, children: 3
Year fifty: number of women: 10, men: 7, children: 9
Year five hundred: number of women: 35, men: 37, children: 42
From the original 40, 25 died in the first year. The trek to the valley hit the Mountain Tribe the hardest. Freezing temperature realted illnesses were all over the place. Peoples limbs fell of because of frost bite, their lungs collapsed from the immense coughing, and some frose just on the spot. And to make things worse, there were avalanches, giant crevases, and even yetis. When they finally got to the valley, many had died. They had not started off to a good start. But the introduction of food and healing crystals made a huge difference. When they finally finshed their society, the meeting was the best thing that had happened to them in while. Both the Desrt tribe and the Rainforest tribe contributed several families to keep the Mountain Tribe's population up. After 500 years, the Mountain tribe had built caves that kept the warmth in and the cold out. The discovery of many kinds of new things kept them alive and well.
A. Does this Utopia have specific criteria for entry? If so, please list the criteria here. (Do not forget to list language(s) spoken.) If not, please proceed to the next section.
- The criteria for entering is easy. Can you use teamwork. Teamwork is the only key to getting through the outside ring of danger, and into the middle of the island. Without teamwork, youfail the test, which usually means death. The Hawaiin language is spoken mostly, but some english is spoken by the scroll recorders.
B. What are the specific skills, if any, possessed by the first generation of citizens in this Utopia?
- In the beginning, everybody possesed the skills of fire making. Most of the men knew how to hunt well, the women knew how to take care of the house, and the children learned all of this. But over the years as new discoveries came up, more skills were invented.
C. How does your Utopia deal with the concept of race, especially in its incecption (beginning)? Does it have only one race? Does it allow mixed race bonds to be formed?
- This Utopia allows white and black to bond. Peace cannot be broken on the islands just for the concept of race. The white genes mix with the Hawaiin genes creating new people. The society actually encourages relationships between Hawaiin and White. The People of the Islands believe that all the life of the Utopian Islands started on the Hawaiin Islands.
