Dane's Infastructure

A. Community services
  • 1. Health Care/Hospitals
    • When someone is sick, they are taken care of by the doctors of that island. The hospital is allways located at the center of the valley. People are taken there, treated for however long it takes for them to recover, then are sent back out to work with the rest of society.

  • 2. Libraries
    • There are usually two libraries on the island. Scroll Recorders spend most of their time in the work rooms at the back of the libraries. People go there when they have off time to read about legends or the history of the Island.

  • 3. Fire protection
    • There is no need for this. The Mountain Island has too much snow, the desert Island barely has anything to burn, and the Rainforest Island has to much moistre.

B. Urban planning
  • 1. Types of homes (single-family, multiple-family, apartment complexes, long houses, etc.)
    • The long houses are used for buildings such as the hospital and library. The rest of the houses are built for families. Families have parents, 2-3 kids, and two grandparents. There is no need for apartment complexes, because everyone has their own house.
  • 2. Where will industry, storage and warehouses be found and how will it be organized
    • There is a place that is either underground or high on poles, depending on which island, that keeps all of the crops and stored things for trading, eating, and building. Most of the places where wood is cut (which is usually hunters with extra time) are on the inside ring of the valley. small places are set up.
  • 3. Recreation centers
    • There are no recreation centers. The people of the island get enough of awork out in their daily jobs. The children play their recriational games outside.
C. Funding
  • 1. Taxes
    • There are no taxes. People work, then put a portion of the things they had made (crops, meat, wood) into storage then take the other portion home to feed their family. The Entertainment workers take some from the storage to sustain themsleves. The rest is used for trade to the other Islands. So it is contributing, not taxing.
