| A. Describe and, if possible, name the informing political philosophy
of this Utopia (for example, Democracy, Monarchy, etc.)
- The Triple Island Government is based off of teamwork where everybody works together, and troubles are allways overcome together. It is its own government. While other governments have leaders are social classes where one is more important than the other, the Triple Island's have no leaders, and everybody is equal. If there is something troubling happening, the whole society of the island meets and resolves the conflict. Elders play a big part in deciding right and wrong, because they have been around so long and have much knowledge of what workds and what doesn't. Big problems are solved at the meeting of the three islands. The Elders of the islands get together and talk about the problems of their societies. With all the smart brains getting together, all of the problems of the islands are solved.
C. Describe the level of participation (do you do them) and how they are accomplished for the following governmental activities:
- i. Choosing/removing leaders
- As was said, there are no leaders. The society is all equal and all participate in decision making and problem solving. And as for being an Elder, you have to be above Physical working age to become on. That gives the persons time to learn and live out their lives and max out their knowledge. Anyone one over working age can join the Elders.
- ii. Creating/changing laws
- Specific laws that relate to the Island are decided by the small group of Elders inside that Islands community. But bigger laws that relate to every island such as the 7 commandments, and things liks do not give into greed are decided when every Elder gets together every year at the meeting. After the Elders think of ideas, they convey them to the people of the islands, taking in advice and voting on what they should do. Smaller laws are voted on by the people of the Island.
D. What are the “checks” on governmental power, if any?
- Everybody checks each other. If an aspect of a law is missing, somebody will most likely put their two cents in, making up for it.
E. How does this government support or suppress the expression of individual ideas?
- Individual ideas are largely supported. With out individual ideas, the Triple Island society would not be able to function. Indivudual ideas are insites into what the people want. If everyone puts in their individual ideas, everyone can be happy, and love the society they are in.
F. What are the methods and means of law enforcement and military operations (both peace keeping and war making):
- At the local level?
- People who are troublsome to the community are given one to two chances, depending on the crime, to rethink their actions, apologize, and stop their criminal behavior. If that person uses up their chances, they are sent out of the society to attempt to get through the perilous place out side of the peaceful valley and make their way to the shore. Their they think over there actions for ever more.
- At the national level?
- Elders keep peace between the three islands. But because of their upbringing, have no idea what war is. Their gods are ones of love and care for a person's fellow Commerads. Because things are traded equally and people have care for eachother, there is no such thing as war. Peace comes naturally to the people of the Triple Islands. Teamwork helps everyone work together and unite as one community.
- At the international (or global) level?
- Because of the secrecy of where the Island is located, no one but the ones who stumble upon the Islands know where it is. There are not even legends about the Islands they are so secret. The god of the Islands keeps power hungry, conquring maniacs from stumbling upon the islands. The islands are ones of peace, and to destroy the peace, would be to destroy all of humanity.
G. What type, if any, of diplomacy (working with other countries without violence) will this Utopia use?
- Teamwork bonds the three islands together. They help eachother when they are in need, giving teh things needed for the other island to survive. Teamwork makes the bond of the Islands as strong as steel.
H. What type, if any, currency will this Utopia use?
- There is no currency such as the Dollar, or Euro on the Utopian Islands. Trade is the major way of currency there. That makes it so there can be no counterfitting of currency.
