Allie's Utopia‎ > ‎

Allie's Population and Demographics

A. Please indicate the projected population statistics here:

Children become adults at age 18
Year one: number of women_250,000, men_250,000, children_500,000
Year fifty: number of women_270,000, men_290,000 children_600,000
Year five hundred: number of women_ 3,000,000, men_3,000,000, children_5,000,000
Though, in our Utopia, we will not allow over-population to occur. But, since we have the whole world's land to work with, we wouldn't run into this issue for a very long time. But if we ever did, we may be forced to put a restriction on 2 children per family.

B. Does this Utopia have specific criteria for entry? If so, please list
the criteria here. (Do not forget to list language(s) spoken.) If not,
please proceed to the next section.
Many things in my Utopia mattered when it came into getting into the bunker, or the gateway into my new society. One thing that was considered by the selectors was whether or not the citizen received 10 out of 10 on the quiz that was sent out. Because we decided that we wanted to evaluate the true person, the letter sent to the citizens only told them that the test was the only thing that mattered in the selection process to get in. By doing this, we wouldn't have people acting different because they knew other things, such as personality and skills, were being evaluated. Another consideration was the person's skills, so that the possible new society would have a well-rounded set of talents. Another consideration was past record, if they had ever committed a crime or been sent to a mental hospital, they would automatically not be considered. Also, for each language spoken by one person, there was at least 1 other person who spoke that language. Most importantly, no families were split up in the process of selection. All of this criteria was considered by "the selectors," a group of random selected people so there would be a well-rounded opinion, deciding which citizens would be in allowed in the society.

C. What are the specific skills, if any, possessed by the first generation of
citizens in this Utopia?

Because of the selection process, there was a well rounded skill set in the society. Some of the skills that were possessed by
the citizens were:
-a team of doctors that specialized in different parts of the human body
-a team of scientists
-teachers and educators that don't believe in homework
-laborers
-engineers
-inventors
-construction workers
-politicians
-psychologists
-retail workers
-clothing designers
-assembly line workers
-transportation manufacturers( boats, scooters, planes, cars, etc.)
-toy makes
-designers
-cooks
-waiters
-butlers
-cleaning service workers
-translators
-people with an assortment of skills, ( knitting, scrap booking, sewing, etc.)
-professional sports players
-children that are in school
-public speakers/motivational speakers
-The watchful eye

Inside my Utopia, the watchful eye is a job performed by one person. This job is my societies "Big Brother." When they become of age (16 years), they are isolated in a tower in the middle of the ocean. Their job is to watch over all that is done in the society. They have the largest amount of power and responsibility. Although this seems like a job that one wouldn't want to have, it is a job of high pride. This job has such high pride because it is considered to be the most important. It entitles watching over the society, all things that happen every minute of everyday. This person also must put out discipline for those it has seen do wrong. Even though this seems like a distopain idea, it will maintain peace in our society and correct behavior. To see what is considered doing wrong, see the rules of the society. Also, as our population grows we are planning on creating a computerized way of monitoring our societies, but at the start, we are going to use "The Watchful Eye."

D. How does your Utopia deal with the concept of race, especially in its inception (beginning)? Does it have only one race? Does it allow mixed race bonds to be formed?

At the beginning of our Utopia, there was still issues of racism, though during the selection process, all races were excepted. We wanted to continue diversity of cultures. Since, in the previous society of the United States, there were scatters of racism. But, as we build the Utopia, we will solve through the problems, and eventually become a Utopia with no racism issues.
