My utopia doesn't have A ruler that bosses around all the people that think they are living in a utopia. My utopia also is doing fine on its own - better than it would if it had connections to the outside world. This is why my utopia is different. The two books Animal Farm and Harrison Burgueron really helped me to understand what I didn't want my utopia to look like. They showed me how there is a difference between freedom and full on equality... and that giving one person too much power almost never ends well.
They both have a sense of freedom but not so much freedom that it is drastic and out of control. When I think of a "utopia", I picture freedom within respectful boundaries. I see people making choices for themselves but also ones that don't hurt or affect others greatly. My utopia works within itself and the people don't need or want anything outside. It's fine the way it is.
