Alaska Professional AISES

Membership

The Alaska Professional Chapter of AISES is a organization that is founded for the purpose of advancing American Indians in Science and Engineering and related business fields and support of AISES. Membership is open to any individual interested and committed to the goals of the professional Chapter.

Dear AAISES Friend,

Many of you have attended our chapter meetings and have seen the progress being made toward our goals.  For those of you who haven't had the chance to make it our meetings, we appreciate you staying on our email list and keeping in touch.

One of the critical steps in becoming a chapter is the establishment of a financial foundation.  We have done that by creating a bank account and making it very easy for our membership and supporters to donate to the chapter.  So far, 7 of our active members have used the online membership payment tool to submit their dues.  We hope that you could find a moment to do the same.  We plan on submitting our financial statements National AISES by the end of the month.

If you are contemplating becoming a dues-paying member, here are the goals we have established for our chapter, which might make your decision a little easier:

· Provide role models for students and professionals.
· Provide support and mentor students to transition to professional status.
· Provide support/mentorship for professionals in developing management, communication, and other skills.
· Provide networking resources and opportunities.
· Identify and recognize exceptional members.
        · Offer educational or travel scholarships to exceptional AAISES college students.

Thanks again for being a part of the chapter, and we can't wait to see what the new year brings! This year we will plan on providing our first scholarship!
