BACON BELMONT cica:early 1950's
Bacon Belmont (circa early 50's)
Let's start with the fact that this guitar was built by Gretsch for Montgomery Wards under the badging of Bacon Belmont. It's counter part is the Town and Country. This guitar has an arched back and the sides and back are maple, in a vintage burst. The multi-layer binding (neck and body, front and rear) was professionally done sometime ago. Features such as it's ornate head stock, diamond inlay, and harp style bridge add to it's way cool vibe. Although the tuners have been replaced and there was a hairline crack very professionally repaired sometime back in the headstock area the great playability and volume that comes from guitar would excite anyone. Note that the peak of the rear neck is off center as many Gretsch Synchomatics of this period are. This guitar spews excitement too the eyes, ears, and touch. To top this off a absolutely original case probably made by Lifton but can't find any manufacture markings....................... $1,600.00 LYON & HEALEY circa: 1920's
Lyon & Healey
Ok guys and girls, we're informed that because of its characteristics and appointments that this is a Lyon & Healey product from circa: 1920s. This is one of those large companies that evolved out of the 1920s and earlier, but didn't survive, and yet commands respect for it's craftsmanship and engineering. This is not a tone monster, but bears merit. Functionality and playability with one of those "you've gotta love it" V-necks. Possibly not original tuners but very, very old. Nicks, scratches and repaired cracks with plenty of room to shave the bridge down to make it even more playable. Topped off with a faux back rosewood that is to die for. Some of the cracks in the back are through to the point if you held it up to the light you could conceivably see through. All said and done a survivor with extra cleats and playability. One that you may keep by the living room couch for endless enjoyment. Comes with non-period correct chipboard case............... $575.00 | D'FERRAROTTI TORINO circa:early 1960's
D'ferrarotti Torino circa 1960's
This is a hard one for us to find information on, as we understand it this guitar was built circa 1960's in Italy. The realities are that it weighs in at an astounding 3 pounds. Most likely the lightest acoustic guitar we have ever had our hands on, let alone a archtop. Features a very fat neck, but comfortable. Brevett tuners, block inlays, bound neck, bound body, bound f-holes. All in extraordinarily well preserved condition. Some aspects of this guitar could be confused with a guitar built in the last 10 years. Styling, styling, styling, comfort, light weight, and volume that sustains like a Martin make you have to appreciate this one. But if you want to acquire it just on it's looks, we understand. Comes in a chipboard case..........$675.00 If you have solid information on the builder of this guitar or this model please contact us. Thank you!!!!!!!!!

It’s beautiful you either love it, or hate it at first glance. Very modern, so we don’t expect the vintage people to understand. So let’s get to the basics Sitka Spruce top, Maple sides and back (these trees were grown in the USA). Gold Grover tuners, Abalone appointments from Mexico built in China and finished in Japan gives it a international flavor but it’s really intergalactic. This one is designated B stock which could mean it was used by one of Parkers endorsee’s, demoed at a show or have a finish flaw. We can’t find a flaw. This thing is easy action playing and great tone, plugged in or not. Not just eye candy. Did we mention tortoise binding. Absolutly stunning. We're throwing in a brand new case.....................................$1,250.00
