Madison Day Trip

7:30am: Meet at Pikes Peak State Park

8:00am: Leave for Madison

10:30am: Wisconsin Veterans Museum

12:00pm: Lunch

1:15pm: Hike past Civil War sites in Madison

3:00pm: Leave Madison

5:00pm: Arrive at Pikes Peak for pickup

Group Size:  Limited to 5 or 6

Ages:  All (must be able to hike 3 miles)

Cost:  $30 (incl. transportation & lunch at the Monona Terrace Convention Center)

 

Park Day 2010

7:30am: Meet at Pikes Peak State Park

8:00am: Leave for Galena

9:30am: Ulysses S. Grant Home

1:00pm: Lunch

2:00pm: Leave Galena

3:00pm: Arrive at Pikes Peak for pickup

Group Size:  Limited to 5 or 6

Ages:  All (must be able to do yard work for a couple hours)

Cost:  FREE (incl. transportation) – Please bring money for lunch

Notes:  Past clean ups here have ended with a tour of the beautiful historic home, smores, a Civil War encampment, and a free t-shirt.  Every year is different, but it is always very fulfilling to feel like you’re making a difference.
