Dolly vonRabenau:
A graduate " magna cum laude"from Southwestern College."Dolly" (as she is affectionately called) is a member of the Southwestern College Honor Societyof 1973. She was employed by Matt's jewelry Manufacturing as a office manager and sales representative. Realizing we needed a financial base for our business start-up; Dolly sought out and was hired by San Diego Savings&Loan Bank . She worked her way up to New Loans and Accounts and soon was Vault Stewart as well as Naval Base mobile Bank Teller. Dolly's aggressive nature to succeed and gift for details led her to the Bank of America. She worked in NewAccounts and New Teller assistant Supervisor. After four years in the planning stages she and Paris decided it was time to launch their first business together. The first of five new businesses together with Paris was "Paris vonRabenau Diamond Setting Inc" at the Jewelers Exchange in downtown San Diego. Dolly was the accountant and office manager including sales and service manager. She is responsible for finding and acquiring the first store location in Point Loma, California in 1979. She locked up a eight year lease from "TheTobacco Man" View Larger Map and for months after occupying this location she sold cigars to the Portugese Tuna Boat owners and locals. Working with the jewelry counter sales and store financials Dolly not only gained success for the store but became a highly regarded authority for fine jewelry within the Point Loma San Diego (Roseville) community as well as expensive Cigars. We called the new store "Point Loma Jewelers". In 1980 Dolly studied and acquired her Gem Grading Graduate Certificate from the San Diego GemSociety in 1981. The San Diego Gem Society was established well before The Gemological Instituteof America (GIA) and was regarded at the time as a leader in identification of fine natural gemstones in California. The next store to be opened was in Old Town San Diego called "Paris vonRabenau Studio". A carriage trade jewelry studio catering to Principal Clients. After five years it was agreed to try something different with the store. So the next business opened in 1991 as "Taylor County Jewelers" in Butler, Georgia. It was a success and led to the purchase eight years later of a small Bank building in Reynolds, Georgia where "Paris vonRabenau Jewelers" again takes the family name and Heritage.
