PEX Installation with crimp and cutter tools

The process of PEX tubing installation (making a crimp connection) is the same for both Oxygen Barrier PEX tubing and Non-Barrier PEX types.

PEX crimp connection method described in this tutorial is suitable for all types (A,B,C) of PEX tubing, regardless of brand or color. Typically, both crimp fittings and crimp rings are available in sizes 3/8", 1/2", 5/8", 3/4", 1" and 1-1/4".

Crimp connection method is particularly popular among DIY's thanks to the ability to check a completed connection with a go-no-go gauge. No other connection method gives you such an option.

For sweat or threaded type PEX fittings, the transition part must always be connected first (also cooled off, if it is a sweat connection).

Get that Toilet to STOP running!

As you can see in the photo to your left, this is NOT a good way to get your toilet to stop running; but I thought I would throw a little humor in. :) Over the years, I have had many a toilet that decided it wanted to keep running and running and wasting water day after day. Instead of giving into calling a plumber, I decided I could take care of it MYSELF and have successfully FIXED my running toilets. Needless to say they never had a problem since I fixed them and I have long sold the house since then. Hopefully the new owners are still having much success to this day.

This lens will explain to you how to fix a running toilet in text detail as well as show you a few videos on how many people like ourselves have fixed their own running toilets which will give you a step-by-step how to visual on how to get the job done and done correctly.

If you have any suggestions or ideas at all, please feel free to share them with me. I would LOVE to hear from you! Don't forget to bookmark this page for future reference and if you have other things in the house that need fixing, feel free t

1. Check to make sure the flapper is closed

Before you go out to the hardware store, first make sure that the flapper is closed over the hole and not left open when you look inside the back of the toilet. If the flapper is closed over the hole and closed correctly, then proceed to step number 2.

2. See if you can adjust the valve and the float

Sometimes it may just take adjusting the valve and the float to get the water to stop running. If that is not working, then the best thing to do is to go to your local hardware store or department store and buy a toilet fill valve kit. Install the toilet valve kit as written in the instructions on the box and that may take care of your running toilet problem.
